Throughout this mentoring process, I developed a strong bond with my mentor and discovered her expertise in Musical Theatre productions. In 2021, the Year 3 students participated in a Musical for the Performing Arts Festival, and their outstanding performance garnered them an award of Excellence. The success of the Year 3 students' show is a testament to the collaborative efforts between myself, my mentor, and the dedicated students. It was a gratifying experience that demonstrated the positive impact of utilizing our collective strengths and fostering a supportive learning environment. |

During the production, one of our Year 3 students expressed feelings of angst about performing on stage in front of an audience. In order to support the student, we asked them to participate in learning the songs and actions alongside their classmates and then asked them to assume the responsibility of being part of the backstage crew where they enjoyed and excelled in the job. This email pertains to the communication between myself and the student's parent, addressing the situation and our efforts to ensure a positive and inclusive experience for the student during the production.
